A meeting of the newly-elected Parliamentary Party Working Committee held Tuesday at Singha Durbar took a decision to this effect.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, NC Vice President and Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel said the committee comprises Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, Dr Narayan Khadka and Deep Kumar Upadhyaya. “The committee will play the role of facilitator to incorporate the party´s views in the new budget,” he said.
The PP working committee meeting has set the agenda for discussions including constitution drafting, formation of subject committees, nomination of their chairpersons, the ongoing peace process and the party´s future course of action. The meeting has been put off till Wednesday morning.
In a query from journalists, PP leader Poudel said the NC continues to claim the post of Constitutional Committee chairperson. He said that they are staking claim to the post as the UML left it after that party´s senior leader, Madhav Kumar Nepal, got elected prime minister on May 23.
NC PP election officer Ananda Prasad Dhungana had presented certificates on the occasion to all 18 winners in the recently held PP election, including PP leader Poudel.
