3-day ICT fair starts

KATHMANDU, April 24: A three-day information and communication technology (ICT) fair and conference, dubbed Microsoft Swaabhimaan 2066, commenced in Kathmandu Friday. Organized by Forum for Information Technology Nepal (FIT Nepal) in association with Microsoft, the event will explore ways to implement the government´s e-governance plan. Simultaneously, an ICT fair is also being held in which 10 national companies will participate. [break]



The main attraction of the event is the presence of Oliver R Bell, regional technology officer of Microsoft Asia-Pacific, who is responsible for Microsoft´s technology policy initiatives and engagements with the government and academic leaders across Asia and Australasia, states a press release issued by the company. The fair is expected to provide the government valuable tips on ways to implement e-governance master plan, the statement further said.



Around 120 other national and international keynote speakers are also sharing their experience and expertise in the three-day event. The event is being held at United World Trade Center in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu.
