JHAPA, April 27: Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula said the main responsibility of the parties was to end the ongoing political instability and move ahead together.

Addressing a press meet in Birtamod on Wednesday, he said there was no alternative to political unity to dispel people’s fear in post May 28 period, the deadline of the Constituent Assembly. [break]

Problems arose one after another as the Maoist party didn’t implement the agreement signed in the past, he said. The seven-point agreement signed between Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal and Maoist Chairman Dahal led to further political crisis, he said.

Congress, he said, hasn’t decided yet whether or not to extend the tenure of the Constituent Assembly.
