MPRF to get four ministries: Yadav

KATHMANDU, April 14: Chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF) Upendra Yadav said Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal on Wednesday agreed to allocate four ministries to his party.



Talking to Republica after a meeting with the prime minister at the latter´s residence at Baluwatar Wednesday evening, Yadav said they are yet to finalize which ministries will go to MPRF.[break]



“A meeting of three parties [UCPN-M, CPN-UML, MPRF] on Thursday will finalize the ministries,” said Yadav.



According to sources, MPRF is likely to bag the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Labor and Transport Management, Ministry of Industries and Ministry of Supplies.



Prime Minister´s Press Advisor Surya Thapa said that the sharing of ministries with MPRF will be finalized at the next meeting.



“There will be no second meeting with MPRF with regard to sharing of ministries,” Thapa said.



Meanwhile, Khanal and Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal also held a meeting Wednesday morning to discuss giving full shape to the cabinet. They likewise discussed the row over the home ministry.



“The cabinet will be expanded very soon,” Thapa said, about the meeting.



Maoist Vice-chairman Narayankaji Shrestha said that the talks ended on a positive note with regard to ending the home ministry row. He further said that a meeting of his party´s officer bearers and available standing committee members on Thursday will finalize the names of the ministries for MPRF.
