Nepali commits suicide in Australia

KATHMANDU, March 31: Leena Chaulagain a Nepali student in Sydney has committed suicide. She was doing her third semester of  Bachelors in  Business at Holmes College in Sydney.



Her roommates informed the police about the suicide, who found her hanging in the bathroom on March 27.[break]



The police from the preliminary investigation assumed it to be suicide.



Investigators have seized her laptop and the cell phone for the further investigation.



Chaulagain graduated from White House College in Kathmandu and reached Australia on Dec 7, 2008 for further studies. She had applied for visa extension recently.



With permission from her bereaved family her cremation was done according to Hindu rituals on March 31st at Rockwood cemetery by her close relative former minister Kamal Chaulagain.



A condolence meet was organized to pay last tribute to the deceased.



Consular General Deepak Khadka, Gorkha Nepalese Community’s President Dr. Narayan Pradhan and members of Nepalese community were present to pay tribute to the deceased.
