PAC meet rescheduled

KATHMANDU, March 31: Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari failed to appear in the meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the legislature parliament which summoned him to discuss the resignation of the Finance Secretary Rameshwor Khanal. The meeting has been rescheduled for Friday morning.



PAC had earlier instructed Finance Minister Adhikari, Revenue Secretary Krishna Hari Baskota and Chief Secretary Madhav Ghimire to be present in the meeting scheduled for Thursday morning.[break]



Although Revenue Secretary Baskota and Chief Secretary Ghimire reached for the PAC meet on time, the meeting could not take place due to the absence of FM Adhikari.



It is learned that FM Adhikari citied tight working schedule as a reason for him to not to attend the meeting.



‘Finance Minister made excuses and did not attend the meeting, however he will have to be present in the meeting tomorrow,’ PAC Chairman Ram Krishna Yadav said.
