POKHARA, Sept 30: A ceremony was held today to give and receive the Dashain tika en-masse at the Kot Bhairav Temple of Malla era based in Bharatpokhari of Pokhara Lekhnath Municipality-13 on the occasion of the Bijaya Dashami Festival.

Special Dashain rituals/ worships were held at the temple throughout the ninth days (Nawaratri) of the Dashain Festival. Fulpati (an assortment of flowers, plants, leaves and fruits of different plants considered auspicious) was brought into the temple on the day of Saptami. Today, locals gathered at the temple and exchange the Dashain tika.

According to temple protection and management committee vice chair Guru Prasad Poudel, it is believed that one's wishes come true by offering worships to the Kot Bhairav, the Hindu deity, on the day of Bijaya Dashami. The temple built during the Malla period carries the great values of historic, cultural and archaeological importance, he added. (RSS)
