Cathay Pacific named "Airline of the Year"

KATHMANDU , April 7: Cathay Pacific Airways has been named the best airline in the world by the London-based Skytrax research organization. The award was presented to Cathay Pacific at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, , where Skytrax was celebrating the 10th anniversary of the awards, states a press release issued on Tuesday. This is the third time the Hong Kong-based airline won the prestigious award. It was also named Best Airline Asia in 2009. The airline was selected as the best in the world based on interviews taken with 16.2 million respondents from across the globe.



Cathay Pacific Chief Executive Tony Tyler said: “We are delighted to once again be named Airline of the Year. This award is very meaningful because it was voted by the traveling public.”
