Hurricane triggers loss

GORKHA, March 19: The hurricane that took place in northern Gorkha for the past four days has triggered loss worth more than Rs. 1 million.



The strong wind caused loss worth Rs. 600,000 in Gandaki lower secondary school of Keruja Village Development Committee (VDC) while it has triggered damage worth Rs. 50,000 in Ramaune hydropower project at Keruja. [break]



The hurricane has swept away the roof of Sidung primary school at Sirdibas-9 causing loss of Rs. 50,000. Similarly, it has rendered Bhaktabir Ghale and Kitmaya Gurung of Uhiyan-1 homeless triggering total loss worth Rs. 180,000, according to District Police Office.
