JHAPA, July 26: Five people were killed, one has gone missing and next one has been injured due to the flooding caused by incessant rainfall in various places of the district till today.
According to the district police office, the deceased are Lukhiram Soren, 34, of Garmani-2, Manish Bhujel, 2, of Togachhi-8, Anuj Neupane of Dhulabari who was currently living at Gauradaha, Kali Bahadur Limbu, 64, of Goldhap-8 and Tekendra Khadka, 35, of Gauradaha-5.
Similarly, injured is Dipesh Giri of Gauriganja-5 while Indian national Babulal Mandi currently living in Kumarkhod-4 is missing.
The DPO has informed that as many as 2,283 people were rescued while 669 houses were still inundated by the floods in the district.
The security agencies have alerted the locals as the water level was rising in different rivers. RSS
