JHAPA, Sept 5: The Nepali Congress (NC) unanimously elected the party’s leadership in 55 wards of Jhapa district in the lead up to the upcoming 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress. Regional representatives and ward level chairpersons and other office bearers have been unanimously elected in 131 wards while conventions are underway in other wards, according to chief of the party's District Publicity Department Krishna Humagain.

DAMAK, Jan 5: Fifteen street children were rescued from Damak of Jhapa district on Saturday. The children were rescued under the campaign of the State government to make State no.1 free of street children.

DAMAK, Nov 9: Police on Tuesday morning impounded four trucks with 50 bulls which were being taken to Jhapa from Morang. A joint team of Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force had arrested the drivers and taken the trucks under control at 4 am. According to the security forces, the bulls were being taken to India.

DAMAK, Nov 3: A shift from regular electricity to solar power has come as a relief for residents of Gauradaha in Jhapa district. Locals who had to pay a minimum of Rs 130 per month on electricity bills now have to pay Rs 105 only, thanks to the installation of a solar-powered water pump in their locality.
