Civil servants on strike in Bara, Parsa

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Civil servants in Bara and Parsa districts are on strike on Wednesday protesting the murder of Madhav Thapa, an government employee.



All government offices of two neighboring districts are closed following the strike, according to television reports.



An armed group had shot dead 45-year-old Thapa, a non-gazetted officer of the Bara Land Revenue Office Tuesday evening.



Terai Mukti Morcha, an underground armed outfit, had claimed responsibility for the killing.
