KATHMANDU, April 4: Petroleum transporters have called off their strikes and agreed to resume transportation of fuel from Saturday. Nepal Federation of Petroleum Transporters agreed to call off the strikes after the government agreed to address its demands in a talks held late night Friday, state-run Radio Nepal said Saturday morning.

As per the agreement, Nepal Oil Corporation has agreed to cancel new tankers purchase deal. The transporters have vowed to respect any decision the government takes regarding more than 20 years old tankers. The government had earlier decided to bar these tankers from transporting fuel, leading to the dealers´ agitation.
A committee comprising NOC, transporters and petroleum dealers will be formed to take decision regarding addition of new tankers.
