KATHMANDU: The parliament meeting that adjourned Thursday beacuse of Nepali Congress´ boycott is unlikely to resume Sunday as the party and CPN (Maoist) could not reach agreement on contentious issues by late Saturday.
NC lawmakers, who boycotted the meeting on Thursday demanding immediate implementation of the nine-point agreement signed by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal last month, are preparing to boycott the meeting on Sunday as well.

NC’s Chief Whip in the House, Laxman Ghimire said the party´s lawmakers would hold an informal meeting Sunday morning to decide the future course of action.
Dinanath Sharma who was CPN (Maoist) chief whip till early this week, however, said the NC would allow the House to run smoothly on Sunday. “We have already begun implementing the agreements signed by the PM, and I hope we can reach out to NC by tomorrow.” He also claimed that the NC boycotted Thursday’s meeting despite reaching an understanding with the Maoists to sort out the issues within three days.
