A meeting of the standing committee held at Balkhu recommended to Khanal to appoint the three leaders as minister in his cabinet. The UML has said it will nominate other leaders later on. "The meeting decided to appoint Adhikari as deputy prime minister," said a statement issued by the party secretary Yuvraj Gyawali. [break]
Adhikari is most likely to be finance minister and Tuladhar education minister. Paudel is likely to be home minister if the home ministry falls in the UML´s share. However, Maoists have been claiming for the home ministry.
Paudel, who was minister for water resources during the government led by Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, was elected from Rupandehi. Former Finance Minister Adhikari and Tuladhar were defeated from Morang and Dhading respectively.
Khanal and the ministers are scheduled to take oath of office on Sunday afternoon.
