SURKHET, Feb 29: After the establishment of the Labour and Employment Office in Karnali Province, as many as 2,615 people have taken work permits for the second time or more.
The office was established a year back. The office only provides re-permission.
With this, those aspiring foreign jobs need not reach Kathmandu.

Information officer at the office, Shyam Krishna Acharya, informed that most of those applying for a work permit for the second and more time will go to Saudi Arab, Qatar, Malaysia and UAE for employment.
Meanwhile, very few companies have been registered as the employment providing companies under the contribution-based social security fund in Karnali Province.
Only 121 companies got registered under the scheme despite the passage of two years since the launch of the scheme.
Similarly, the number of works registered under the contribution-based social security fund stands 172 in the Province.
The contribution-based social security scheme was introduced two years back, as per which, the workers get pension or gratuity and medical expenses.
