KATHMANDU, July 6: Police arrested a man for smuggling drugs from Kathmandu today. Sonu Kapar of Saptari was held during a security check at Nagdhunga check point. Police also seized 130 ampules of dizelab, 120 ampules of phenergan, 120 ampules of nurofen and 19 ampules of lupigesic from Kapar. The confiscated illegal drugs were being smuggled into the capital city.

Meanwhile, a total of 26 persons of different 14 groups were arrested for possessing drugs illegally, from different parts of the country in the past one month alone, according to data with the Metropolitan Police Sector, Nagdhunga. Earlier, a team from the Police Sector confiscated drugs being smuggled illegally on a bus (Na 5 Kha 9267) heading to Kathmandu from Sarlahi during a security check at the check point.
Likewise, two men--Sabin Lama and Prabhu Ram Alemagar--were also held from Kalanki for smuggling drugs. Chief at the Police Sector Rishiram Gharti Magar said the arrestees had been sent to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot for further investigation. RSS
