Landless people padlock Mechinagar municipality

JHAPA, Jan 7: Hundreds of landless people padlocked Mechinagar Municipality Friday demanding action against its three employees.



The agitators say the three staffs—Rajan Bhetwal, Dipendra Karki and Pabitra Subba—approved fake details of landless people living in Pyaribhitta at Mechinagar-11.[break]



The three controversial employees of the municipality in their approval stated that nobody is living in 18 kattha and two bigha of Kitta No. 18 and 89 and the land has no pathways.



However, landless people are staying in the land that is owned by Raj Kumar Acharya. The agitating landless have been demanding that the land should be registered in their name.
