According to District Examination Monitoring Committee (DEMC), Rautahat, 10 invigilators were expelled in the district on Sunday for helping examinees cheat. A monitoring team led by Assistant Chief District Officer (CDO) Ramraj Subedi visited various exam centers in the district and expelled invigilators Anjani Kumar Nidhi, Birendra Chaudhary, Roshan Prashad Shah, Pawan Yadav, Renu Chaudhary and Ram Das among others for involvement in examination irregularities, according to SP Sanubabu Thapaliya.
Meanwhile, an epileptic student, Kunta Rai of Janajyoti Higher Secondary School (HSS), fell unconscious while writing her exam at Shubhalal Higher Secondary School exam centre in Suntapur. The District Police Office (DPO) informed that she is now undergoing treatment at Chandranigahapur Hospital.
Similarly, one superintendent and three invigilators were expelled in Sarlahi district the same day for negligence in the exam hall. According to CDO Mohan Chapagain, a monitoring team led by him expelled superintendent of Sagarnath High School (HS) exam centre Mahendra Yadav and invigilators Kamal Bahadur Katuwal and Shiva Narayan Raut for breach of the exams code of conduct.
Two invigilators expelled for dereliction of duty
As many as 194 students were expelled for cheating at various exam centres in Saptari district on Sunday. Additionally, a monitoring committee also charged students with using fake identity, among other misdeeds, according to DPO Saptari.
Likewise, a monitoring team led by CDO Birendra Yadav took one student under control at Bavangamakatti Higher Secondary School centre. Examinee Shankar Yadav was charged with misconduct as his answer papers had two different handwritings.
DEMC Janakpur expelled nine invigilators on the third day of the exam. According to the DPO, a monitoring team expelled the invigilators at various examination centres for helping student cheat.
Tensions ran high in Dailekh district after students resorted to violence and vandalism to protest against strict monitoring at Bhairav Higher Secondary School exam centre at Naumule. After the exam, students hurled stones targeting center superintendent Narendra Singh and the invigilators and clashed with security personnel deployed there. According to DPO Dailekh, three of its personnel sustained injuries from the stones. Among them, Bogi Ram Bika was seriously injured, said DSP Madav Prasad Shrestha, chief of the DPO. He added that the injured are undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
