KATHMANDU, Nov 22: Agriculture Inputs Company Limited (AICL) is importing 25,000 tons of chemical fertilizer from China.
According to the AICL, the aforementioned quantity of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) that it imported from the northern neighbor has already arrived in Nepal-India borders from Kolkata port. The AICL is importing 9,000 tons of the chemical fertilizer via Bhairahawa customs, 9,500 tons via Birgunj customs and 6,500 tons via Bhairahawa customs.
The AICL has contracted Indian contractor Indian Potash Limited to supply DAP in Nepali market. The phosphorus rich fertilizer, which is used in plantation of the crops like wheat, mustard and corn, will be distributed through the cooperatives, according to the AICL.
