KATHMANDU, July 15: A motorcyclist died while the pillion rider sustained critical injures in bus-motorcycle collision at Gatthaghar in Bhaktapur district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Ashim Shrestha of Bangalamukhi, Lalitpur while the pillion rider is Iku Joshi of Mangal Bazaar of the same district.

According to police Shrestha died on the spot while Joshi is undergoing treatment at Gwarko-based B and B Hospital.

Joshi’s condition is said to be critical.

Bhaktapur Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi said it is investigating the case after taking bus and bus driver Ram Kumar Mahat under control.

The accident took place when the motorcycle heading for Sallaghari collided head-on with the bus coming from the opposite direction.
