The kidnappers abducted Raj Narayan Yadav, a boy from Siraha´s Sitapur village, when he was watching a dance being performed by local thespians in Bhotiyatol of Padariya village-9. [break]
According to Superintendent of Armed Police Force (SP) Rabindra Thakur, the abductors released the boy when they saw a squad of Armed Police personnel on their way. The abductors have not been identified.
According to the kidnapped-and-released boy, the abductors told him that he could watch the dance from inside their jeep. Once the boy was in, they ignited the jeep.
The abductors asked the boy to get off their jeep when they saw Armed Police personnel ahead. Once they fled, the boy went to the police personnel patrolling in Bhotiatol area and told them about his abduction. Police escorted the boy to Area Police Office of Lahan.
According to Police Inspector Laldhwoj Subedi, the boy has been safely been handed over to his family. Meanwhile, it has been disclosed that Rambriksha Mandal, a local manpower agent who was missing since Monday, has been kidnapped. Mandal´s family learnt about his abduction only after the abductors called them for ransom.
The abductors have demanded Rs 120,000 in ransom. Mandal´s mother Paryag Devi Mandal has asked human rights activists and media persons to help release his son. She said she has no money to pay the ransom.
