The police learned about the incident at nine on Saturday morning. Bishwa Raj Adhikari, spokesperson of Kaski Police said that details of the theft were yet to come. “Until the details come, we cannot say anything about the damage done,” Adhikari said. He said they are searching for the thief.

According to Adhikari, the thief had used a similar kind of lock for the shop after the theft. “When the shop owner tried to open the lock the next morning, it didn´t open. Only after cutting the lock did they know about the theft,” Adhikari said.

The police believe that the thief is experienced. “A thief who uses gas welding to break the vault must be experienced,” Rabindra Gurung, inspector involved in the investigation said. “The thief knew that a vault could not be opened without using a gas welding machine.”
