Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, NRN President Devman Hirachan said the day is being observed with the objective of making the Tourism Year 2011 successful with the slogan of ´together for tourism´.[break]
As the NRNs could play an important in bringing in tourists to Nepal, the NRN Day is expected to encourage the NRNs towards that end, he added.
The current political squabbling is creating a fear among the investors, Hirachan said and urged the political leaders to free the country from such a situation.
NRN Association Secretary Tenzi Sherpa said ´NRN in local development and tourism promotion´ is the major theme of the NRN Day and all the programs to be organized on the Day shall focus on it.
Meanwhile, the Association has appointed Hem Raj Acharya its Executive Director for Nepal.
Acharya has experience of working as a policy advisor in the US for seven years.
