KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Maoist vice-chair Dr. Baburam Bhattarai on Sunday said that his party, UCPN (Maoist), is preparing withdraw from the current prime ministerial election in parliament.

“The central committee meeting will decide on this in a few days,” Bhattarai told Radio Kantipur in an interview. “We will begin a fresh effort for national consensus.”

Bhattarai added that the experience of last two years had showed that majority system did not work. “Extremists will benefit if we continue to wiggle in the election,” he said.
