Rai had recently signed for India´s second division club Mohammedan Sporting Club. He debuted from the club on Sunday.

Chand´s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) has not been complete yet. All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is preparing to send the ITC by Tuesday, which is the deadline for the registration of players in India.

HAL have hired Chand for Rs 128,000 per month. According to a source, Chand signed the contract to stay in the club from September 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. The contract also states that Chand will receive a bonus of Rs 10,000 per month if the club succeeds in remaining in the I-League.

The number of Nepali players in Indian teams has now reached three. Anil Gurung joined Shillong Lajong last season. But Shillong Lajong were relegated and are preparing to compete in the second division.

Chand entered India in his second season after starting his professional football career from the Martyrs Memorial League that concluded in July. He was adjudged the best defender in the domestic A Division League which he played from G-Five Machhindra Club.

Although he was registered from Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) for this season, he left for India before the league kicked off.

Chand was released by MMC on Monday. Rai was also registered with MMC.

“Chand had informed us about his possible move to an Indian club ahead of our agreement,” MMC legal advisor and office secretary Kumar Bhattarai said. “We released him as the contract had a clause which permits him to leave for abroad studies or play in a foreign club,” added Bhattarai.

He also said that Chand has returned the amount he took from the club.

Chand, a product of ANFA Academy, debuted for the national team against Palestine during the Challenge Cup Qualifiers 2009 on home ground.
