Pashupati Khatri, event manager of Direction Nepal, said they would donate the money collected as entrance fee for a social cause. Last year, the had donated Rs 35,000 collected as entrance fee to landslide victims.
“The exhibition is being organized with the sole aim of celebrating good health and fitness and create awareness among people on health issues,” said Anuj Kumar Shrestha, executive director of DECC.
The expo is bringing wide varieties of health and fitness related products under a single roof to cater proper information to individuals who are conscious about their health and fitness.
According to the organizers, the program will provide information on health products, training aids, nutrition, awareness on Spa and Wellness industry and wide range of skin care, aromatherapy weight loss, hydrotherapy and other health related products.
“There will also be side events such as free assessments, advice and information, free seminars, free health check-up, dental camp and blood donation camp during the event,” Shrestha added.
The expo will feature more than 60 stalls of different health and fitness related products. The organizers are expecting more than 12,000 visitors in the four-day event. The organizers have fixed entrance fee at Rs 10 per person.
Virgin Mobile in 3rd year
KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Virgin Mobile organized its second anniversary by handing over prizes to the lucky winners of its Customer Loyalty Offer on Friday.
Issuing a press statement, the company said the offer entitled the customers with assured first prize worth Rs 100,000, mobile set worth Rs 50,000 as second prize, mobile set worth Rs 30,000 as third prize and exciting gift hampers worth Rs 4,500 to 5 lucky customers.

UNMC, NTB join hand for Stand Up 2010
KATHMANDU, Aug 6: UN Millennium Campaign (UNMC) is partnering with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) this year to launch a joint movement during Stand Up 2010, during which participants will push the governments worldwide to fulfill their commitments of lowering global poverty by half, among others, by 2015.
Networks of both MDG Campaign and NTB will organize a strong movement that will galvanize efforts to meet the needs of the world´s poorest through various actions of the stakeholders and the government on September 18, UNMC said in a statement. “This will be promoted through a carnival in Kathmandu,” reads the statement.
The two organizations have adopted a joint slogan for the event: Tourism for Livelihood Opportunities for Poverty Alleviation.
In 2009, two million Nepalis had shown solidarity and participated in the campaign, organized in a bid to give a loud and clear message to the global leaders that people worldwide will no longer stay seated or silent in the face of poverty and broken promises to end it.
