KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday plunged 19.92 points to close at 2,595.10 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,615.03 points and marginally increased in the first one minute before going to a steep fall to 2,596.54 points in the first 22 minutes. It inclines 11 points in the next half an hour. The market went to a gradual fall to hit the day’s low at 2,589.02 points in the last half an hour. The market recovered around six points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
200 companies lose as NEPSE plummets 13.88 points
Only mutual funds added 0.03 points. Of the 12 losers, life insurance declined 201.73 points and hotels and tourism plunged 114.20 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies decreased 1.96 points. The daily turnover decreased to Rs 4.52 billion from Rs 4.57 billion.
Among the individual companies, 43 were gainers while 207 were recorded as losers. Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 130.52 million.
Sindhu Bikash Bank Ltd was the topmost loser of 10 percent. SY Panel Nepal Limited gained the highest of 9.99 percent.
