Amit Hamal appeared in a Sydney court on Tuesday charged with having sexual intercourse without the woman´s consent last week. [break]
Hamal is accused of entering the house through an unlocked door and assaulting the woman, who had been asleep in her bedroom.
The bail was also denied to Hamal as the case will resumed to hear on July 29,according to Australian media. However, Hamal´s lawyer claimed that he was a member of the ´Nepalese´ royal family and stood against the charge, saying the sex was on mutual consent.
"On the day of incident, the delivery driver rang the doorbell twice and telephoned. The door was ajar and Hamal went inside where he saw a man asleep on the lounge, but he could not wake him," the lawyer said.
Hamal then got inside the bedroom where the 44-year-old woman was asleep and when she stirred at him she removed her clothes and they had consensual sex, said the lawyer.
Hamal was further accused of flight risk and was arrested at Sydney airport on Monday night as he had a one-way ticket to Bangkok.
