2 dead, 5 injured in Rolpa accident

ROLPA, July 24: Two persons were killed and five others injured when a tractor fell some 20 meters down from the road at Khurkakhara of Khumel-4 of the district at around 10:00 pm on Saturday.



Those killed are Bhupendra Roka, 20, of Khumel VDC-3 and local Champha Singh Roka, 20, the District Police Office, Rolpa, said. Both of them died on the spot.[break]



Topendra Gharti Magar, Bhupendra Giri, Nawin Gurung, of Khumel VDC-5, Dil Bahadur Khadka and Thakur Chaudhari of Dang were injured in the accident, the district police further informed.



All the injured are receiving treatment at a primary health post in Salinchaur. The tractor (Lu 2 Ta 962) was heading to Khum from Khumel when the incident happened.



Police have detained tractor driver Giriraj Mahara, while his help is absconding. Police teams from the Area Police Office, Salinchaur and the Police Post, Gajul had reached the site soon after the incident.
