Futa fever in town World Cup on big screens

STOP! It’s been too long that this song has been on the air enticing and exciting us for the World Cup mania.[break]



Now that it’s finally here, the biggest sports event – the FIFA World Cup 2010 – you wouldn’t want to settle for anything less than pure sports exhilaration: enough to last you the full four years till the next one comes along.



This time around, Kathmandu seems to have arranged things to make your World Cup experience even bigger and better. Two words: Big screens. Some hip places around the city are all set for World Cup, ready with big screens, projectors, sound systems and also the food and ambiance to go along with it.



So gather your family, friends and your betting buddies and head out to some big screens to drown yourself in the football craze and the World Cup thrills.



The Factory, Thamel



Some 30,000 watts of pulsating sound along with Samsung’s latest HD projector showcased in two corners – face painting, daily FIFA, gaming zone, ADIDAS goodies shop – with all this and more, not to forget their tantalizing food and drinks (cuisines and drinks from every World Cup nation by celebrity chef Lee) – The Factory at Sagarmatha Complex, Thamel is one sure-shot entertainment hub for this season of World Cup. Patan Durbar Square



An open space and a huge crowd of cheering fans – though it won’t be the football stadium itself, The Durbar Square in Patan (Mangal Bazaar) invites all to experience World Cup on a 20ft x 15ft projector screen. Starting June 26 for the pre-quarters or knockout matches.



Lakhey Restaurant and Bar, Durbar Marg



Don’t want to be too cramped up in a crowd for this World Cup in the hot summer? How does cool wind on the terrace sound as you watch the matches on a 15-feet projector screen? Add to that, mouthwatering BBQs, welcome snacks, your favorite drinks and PS3 FIFA 2010 gaming tournament – for this superb combo, be there at Lakhey Restaurant and Bar, Durbar Marg. Good at guesses? It’s fun games and exciting prizes for those who guess the winners of the FIFA World Cup matches at Attic Bar, Lazimpat. Musical performances by Adrian Pradhan and others during the World Cup month, mesmerizing foods, drinks and more. Opening: June 11, 6pm onwards.



Radisson Hotel, Lazimpat

Bringing you the special cocktails from the host nation of FIFA World Cup 2010 – South Africa – Rox Bar at Hyatt Regency, Boudha, invites you to join in the World Cup excitement. House of Music, Thamel



WC2010 is finally here and House of Music, Thamel has our very own Monkey Temple giving the soundtrack with the Live game screening on two 6ft x 10 ft projector screens. As the first game starts on the terrace, Monkey Temple takes to the stage. For the midnight game, everyone back in the main hall. Enjoy the music, the game, the food and the drinks.
