DUBAI, July 3: Some 184 Nepali migrant workers have lost their lives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the last three years. The Nepali Embassy in the UAE said that 184 Nepalis died of heart attack, suicide, road accidents and after consuming alcohol among other reasons.
Second Secretary at the Embassy, Krishna Aryal informed that during an interaction on foreign employment organized by the Embassy.
The data was made public in presence of representatives of different manpower agencies, Nepali workers in UAE, representatives of different organization and journalists.
It was for the first time the Nepali Embassy held interaction with Nepalis in the Gulf country since the diplomatic mission was established on April 11, 2004.
During the function, Acting Nepali Ambassador to the UAE, Netra Bahadur Tandon informed the participants about the labor laws and legal provisions in the UAE.
