Police arrest network marketing agents

RAJBIRAJ, June 5: Police in Saptari have arrested seven persons including two Indians, trying to swindle people in the name of Indian networking company Gaze Trading Pvt Ltd on Saturday.



The agents were arrested from Kalyanpur, Saptari on the basis of complaints from victims who claimed they didn´t earn as promised by the networking agents. They were nabbed from a house where they were trying to attract commoners. [break]



The nabbed are Gaze agent Gauri Shankar Raut of Supaul, India, Prakash Kumar Mandal of Birpur, India, Ram Lal Mandal of Loharzara-2, Saptari, Krishna Kumar Yadav of Portaha-2, Dipendra Kishore Yadav of Malahaniya-5, Ram Sudan Yadav of Belha-2, Siraha, Dipendra Yadav of Siraha-2 and Dipendra Bhagat of Sarshwar-3, according to inspector at the Area Police Post in Kanchanpur, Padam Thapaliya.



"The company has its head office at Shankar Garden of Bikashpuri in New Delhi and it supplies organic food and other commodities," inspector Thapaliya said quoting the arrested agents. The company had already made around 150 members in Dhanusha, Siraha and Saptari districts and took Rs 10,500 from each member.



The 150 members lodged complaint asking police to get the money returned. "We are trying to extract more information from the arrested. We will deal with them according to law," the chief of Saptari police Sharad Oli said.
