KATHMANDU, May 27: The standing committee of the Unified CPN (Maoist) on Thursday reiterated the party´s stance on the extension of the Constituent Assembly (CA) terms.
After a meeting at party headquarters on Thursday afternoon, the party decided that they would not vote for the extension ´in any condition´ if their conditions are not met.[break]
"We will not vote for the extension unless peace and constitution are ensured," party spokesperson Dina Nath Sharma said after the meeting reiterating that Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal should resign.
The CA term is expiring on Friday and despite repeated talks, the major three political parties – others being ruling alliance Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, have not reached any agreement.
The meeting was called to decide on the CA term extension.
