KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has increased power cuts to 18 hours a week from the existing 11.5 from Thursday.

“We have increased the load-shedding hours due to rise in both the peak and overall demand,” said Chiranjibi Sharma, chief of the Load Dispatch Center. [break]

The NEA further added that the feeders that have leakage of 40-50 % would have additional daily power cuts for two hours while those with more than 50% leakage would have to bear the brunt of power outage for additional three hours.
