A group of 150 leaders and cadres of the ATMM handed their weapons to Peace Minister Rakam Chemjong in Birgunj. The weapons include 18 guns, three socket bombs, and two sacks of ammunition.
The Morcha gave up weapons as per the six-point agreement reached with the government on May 7.
“We surrendered our weapons as we trust the government,” Morcha´s chairman, Bivek Chaudhary, said, adding that if an environment of trust persists, the group will surrender all remaining arms and ammunition.
