Though the blast caused minor damage to the equipment, the blast has triggered a sense of insecurity among the employees.
The scavetor was hired by Lumbini Keshav Pradip JV Construction from Jayamat Construction of Nepalgunj at Rs 15,000 a month.
The armed outfit’s district in-charge Pawan owned up to the blast and said the blast was carried out to warn the contractor.
Meanwhile, police have arrested Ramesh Barma from Mohammadpur-2 of the district along with a pistol. Police said Barma has been involved in blasts and extortion carried out by the armed underground outfit.
