JHAPA, May 9: Malaysian police have detained 21 Nepali nationals, who went there for employment through Kathmandu based Rapti Manpower Company on illegal visas.

The Nepali youths had left for Malaysia in mid-April. They were detained from Kuala Lumpur airport on charge of travelling on duplicate passports and fake visas, Bishnu Paudel of Satasidham of Jhapa district told his family members over the phone.[break]

Chhatra Bahadur Karki, Hom Acharya, Bishnu Prasad Rijal and others of Satasidham are among the arrested, said Paudel.

Rijal told his father-in-law Chinta Mani Niraula, “We are in jail. Please, help us for our rescue.”

“We contacted Rapti Manpower via Shesh Lal Chaudhary, the owner of local Supurba Manpower Company,” Niraula said, adding that Chaudhary has been absconding now.

Khod Nath Chapagain of Byandanda said they have appealed to the police to search for Chaudhary and ensure release of Nepalis detained in Malaysia.
