A bus with Indian registration number GJ-14X-9900 heading for India from Kathmandu skidded off the road in the Naubise-Nagdhunga section of Tribhuvan Highway and plunged 200 meters into the Sishne Khola.

Of the 17 deceased, 14 breathed their last on the spot and three died while undergoing treatment in the capital, according to the Indian Embassy. Eight of the dead were women.
A total of 45 Indian nationals (22 men and 23 women) were in the bus that was returning home after a pilgrimage tour of a month and two days to different religious sites in Nepal. Their last destination was Pashupatinath temple.
All the victims were from Surendranagar district, Gujarat state, said Pratap Bhai, a passenger in another pilgrim bus from India.
Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy on Wednesday tweeted-"Indian Air Force sending IL76 transport aircraft to Nepal to bring mortal remains of Indian pilgrims died in road accident today"
The bus, which was at speed, veered off the road when the driver tried to avoid a motorbike coming from the opposite direction, it is learnt. However, DIG Jay Bahadur Chand, who reached the incident site, said the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.

All injured pilgrims transferred to Norvic Hospital
The critically injured Indian pilgrims have been transferred to Norvic International Hospital from other hospitals in the capital. The hospital administration at Norvic informed that 14 patients have been admitted there as of Wednesday evening.
The hospital said that out of the 14 admitted there, the condition of three is critical. "Two are undergoing surgery and doctors have prepared for surgery on the third also," R.P. Mainali, Norvic deputy general manager (DGM), said.
Earlier, the injured pilgrims were taken to seven different hospitals. Indian envoy to Nepal Ranjit Rae, had gone to TUTH to see the injured. The Indian embassy informed that the condition of five of the injured is critical. The embassy will bear all treatment expanses for the injured people. A source there also informed that the embassy has called in a special aircraft to take the injured back to India.
Seventeen people died and 27 others were injured when a bus carrying Indian pilgrims veered off Prithivi Highway in Dhading.
