In his brief comments to the press, KP Sharma Oli admitted for the first time that senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal is with him. “The panels of Madhav Nepal and KP Oli are the same,” said Oli, while entering inside the hall of the ongoing general convention of the party. “This is that panel that can steer the party in a correct manner. This is the fact.” However, he left it to the delegates to decide who should win.
In his comments that followed Oli, Jhala Nath Khanal said any win or loss doesn’t make any difference in the party. “We are in a competition,” said Khanal. “This is the competition of qualification, knowledge and ability… Everybody will win in this competition, which will ultimately make the party more united.”
The Election Committee of the party said the delayed voting to choose 115 members in the central committee and eight office-bearers would start at 12 noon on Sunday. However, there are possibilities of further delay.
