ANNISU-R closes down schools

KATHMANDU, April 25: All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union (Revolutionary) closed down all private educational institutions for indefinite period from Sunday protesting the fee-hike.



Private and Boarding Schools Organization of Nepal (PABSON) and Nepal PABSON decided to close down schools citing that the security reasons.[break]



ANNISU-R is demanding a rollback of new fees and had padlocked account sections of all schools from April 19.



The private schools are required to provide the fee structure to the respective district education office and get approved before the new session. This year, the private schools hiked the price from 15 to 25 per cent, according to ANNISU-R.



Meanwhile,Minister for Education Sarvendra Nath Shukla urged the ANNISU-R to call off the strike.



Speaking in his hometown Butwal, he called the strike illegal and asked to withdraw it.
