Bhandari, who bagged gold in marathon in the SAG, is gearing up for the Asiad to be held in China in November.
Basketball tournament for SLC appeared
KATHMANDU, April 17: Kite Education Foundation will organize Open Basketball Tournament from Sunday for students who recently appeared for the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations.
The tournament includes matches in two categories -- senior boys and senior girls.
There are four teams in the girls´ category. The top two teams in the round robin format will advance into the final round. The matches of the boys´ category will be held in league-cum-knockout format in which 10 teams are set to participate.
The winners will receive a cash prize of Rs 10,000 while the runners-up will get Rs 5,000.
Fun badminton
KATHMANDU, April 17: The Fun Badminton Tournament kicked off at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, on Saturday.
The pair of Bikram Khadka and John Babu Purimitla defeated Suresh Basnet and Parashar Jung Pandey on the opening day. Likewise, Abhimanyu KC and Sharad Aryal paired up to defeat Ram Chandra Basnet and Milan KC.
Ten pairs are competing in the event organized by Jawalakhel Badminton Circle.
