KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Kakhara Pre-School has hosted its second annual sports-day event on Saturday. Children under the age of five participated in a variety of sports programs organized by the school where Jit Bahadur KC was the chief guest and was felicitated in the event.
The veteranmarathon runner KC was honored by the school managing director Uma Nath Niraula, for handing Nepal its first ever international medal in the track and field event held in 1971 in the Philippines.

KC said that he was very happy to receive the award and also mentioned that the school is like his family.
For the development of all-round academic growth, the school has made it possible for the children to regularly engage in various sports activities depending on their age and interest. The school organized this event so that the students could show the outcome of their yearly trainings. The winners were awarded medals by the school principal Nisha Neupane Ghimire.
Kakhara, which has been following international standards on the fundamentals of child education and development, has succeeded in establishing its identity as one of the top pre-schools in the Bhaktapur area.
