The book club is registered at Social Welfare Council of the Government of Nepal and has members from all walks of life. There are teachers and students and also business people enthusiastically participating in book reading.
The reading sessions are organized once a month where participants share their views and review the book. The club had discussions on the essay ´I pencil´ by Leonard E Read on April 10, Saturday.
Sayam Moktan, 19, a bachelor´s level student shares, "I love coming to the book reading sessions. There is always a healthy discussion and a lot of idea sharing."
Moktan has attended three reading sessions and says she has decided to become a member.
Vijay Tamla, president of the club, states the programs conducted by the club will prove beneficial to all its participants and enhance readership.
"Every book gives you a lesson to learn," he says.
With the support of British Council, Nepal, the book club also organizes various talk programs on documentaries, reviews and critical analysis. It also organizes author-readers interaction programs. In some of the writer-reader talk events writers Sanjeev Uprety, Govinda Raj Bhattarai, Jagadish Ghimire, Narayan Wagle, Sheeba Shivangini Shah, Krishna Dharabasi were present.
