KATHMANDU, Feb 19: The government has relieved Nepalese ambassador to India Dr Durgesh Man Singh of his duty, Ujyaalo FM said quoting a Foreign Ministry official.
Officiating foreign secretary Pradyumna Bikram Shah this week wrote to the Nepali embassy in New Delhi to inform about the sacking of Singh.
Police complaint filed against three, including Durgesh Thapa,...
Earlier the ministry had written to Singh three times asking him to return home within one month but Singh ignored the government order.
Singh arrived in Kathmandu last week to see his sick mother. The ministry says he has neither informed the ministry about his Nepal visit nor assigned his responsibilities to his deputy in his absence so he has been relieved of his responsibilities, according to the official. The Maoist-led government wants to replace Singh with Ram Karki. Singh was appointed ambassador by the previous Nepali Congress government.
