KATHMANDU, MAy 17: A 16-year-old Chinese girl has ascended Mount Everest with the onset of the Spring season.

The Chinese girl Sui Cho Yuan successfully reached atop Everest via the south slope at 5:42am on May 15.

Organizing a press conference here Wednesday, Nepal Big Mountain Travel shared this information. The travel agency had facilitated the summit of Sui, according to Managing Director Sudarshan Nepal.

The Chinese girl is said to be the youngest woman climber.

On the occasion, climber Sui shared that she was inspired by her father, Lei, who had scaled Everest from the north slope in 2007. Although the adverse atmosphere posed hostility in the beginning, the weather was clear on the day she reached atop the world's highest peak.

She also extended thanks to the Sherpas who assisted her in climbing Everest.  According to Sui, Everest was polluted with trash and her team brought back the used materials to keep the mountain clean.

Meanwhile, former Chair of Nepal Mountaineering Association, Ang Chhiring Sherpa, said that there is no provision to issue permits to the people below 16 years for climbing Everest.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Everest summit this year, various programmes are being organized in the country. The climbing for this year began last Saturday.
