An informal meeting of the party´s CWC members with the party leadership on Friday reached a decision to this effect keeping in view the other programs of the party scheduled for before April 7. [break]
The decision comes in the wake of a majority of NC CWC members piling pressure to hold the meeting at the earliest to resolve various issues including fixing the date for the party´s 12th general convention. This will be the first CWC meeting after the demise of the party president, Girija Prasad Koirala.
NC CWC member Narahari Acharya said an informal decision on the CWC meet was taken keeping in view the condolence meeting to be held in Kathmandu on April 3 and some other already-announced programs of the party scheduled for before April 6.
Acharya said the decision was taken bearing in mind that the meeting could extend for a few days. "The party is yet to take a formal decision to this effect," he said.
Earlier, the CWC members had demanded the meeting for Sunday, a day after the party holds its condolence meet in Kathmandu.
Party sources said that a majority of CWC members are miffed over claims and counter claims made by the party´s three senior leaders--Sushil Koirala, Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ram Chandra Poudel--to the leadership of the party following the demise of the party president.
The leaders are set to raise the issue forcefully at the upcoming CWC meeting and argue that such behavior on the part of senior leaders had tarnished the image of the entire party.
