GORKHA, Feb 28: With the Free Students Union elections at least a week away, the All Nepal National Independent Student Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) affiliated to Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist has padlocked the gates of a college in Gorkha while an unidentified group has carried out explosion at another college in the district.

A leaflet left by the ANNISU-R at Gorkha Campus states that the student union padlocked the college gates as the union's name was not listed second in the list of the student unions participating in the elections.  Election Officer Yadu Adhikari informed that the mess created by the protestors has caused disturbance in the election process.

Meanwhile, at the Dravya Shah Multiple College, a bomb was detonated by a group of unidentified people. Students and staff of the college informed the police about the incident after hearing a loud noise.

Nominees for the FSU elections have already been registered in both the colleges. It has been estimated that around 600 students from Gorkha Campus and 450 students from Dravya Shah Multiple College are likely to participate in the FSU polls.
