Security crackdown in Baglung

BAGLUNG, March 19: Police have rounded up 47 persons involved in different illegal activities in Baglung district during a campaign -- Police Mission Seven -- launched by District Police Office to maintain law and order in the district. Among them, three persons are government job holders.



DSP Bikash Khanal said the mission has significantly helped in maintaining the security in the district. He said the police are capable of controlling all criminal activities if the political parties, civil society and journalists cooperate.



Meanwhile, police inspector Krishna Prasad Aryal said 422 drivers were fined for violating traffic rules during a traffic check up which collected revenue of Rs 60,850. The police have also arrested a timber smuggler and handed him over to the forest office for further action.



Police also raided different hotels and seized and destroyed over 4,000 liters of hooch.
