Mayor Shah expressed readiness to cooperate in waste management efforts stating that the KMC is initiating a 'zero waste' program in some wards and requires support from the ministry for its success. In the meeting, Mayor Shah said that the KMC will provide necessary cooperation and facilitation to manage the waste by further improving the structure built for waste management at the landfill site in Bancharedanda.

Minister Budha stated that he has instructed his subordinate agencies to reduce the amount of waste disposal in Bancharedanda and mentioned that the ministry wants to coordinate and cooperate with KMC and Lalitpur Metropolitan City for a long-term solution to waste management. Minister Budha also asked Mayor Shah for suggestions on how to make the work being done within the KMC effective and speed up development.

In response, Mayor Shah requested to proceed with the necessary coordination to manage traffic jams in Kathmandu Valley and remove unorganized settlements on the river banks of the valley.
